School principal arrested in drug bust in Surigao del Sur town
A school principal was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Poblacion in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur last March 20, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
The suspect is a 45-year-old male and is serving as a school supervisor.
“Prior to the operation, the suspect had been subjected to extensive verification and surveillance by different drug law enforcement units to validate and confirm his involvement in illegal drug activities within the area,” the PDEA said.
The agency conducted the buy-bust operation after establishing sufficient intelligence and monitoring.
Authorities also seized two sachets of suspected shabu with a total estimated standard value of P6,800.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Tagbina Municipal Police Station.
He will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
