A cyclist sustained severe injuries after getting involved in a road rage incident with a motorcycle rider in Cainta, Rizal.

According to Oscar Oida’s Monday report on “24 Oras,” a dashboard camera from another motorist caught the cyclists and motorcycle driver arguing along Bonifacio Ave past 7 a.m. on Sunday.

Their argument resulted with both men staring at each other, leading to the rider swerving to deliberately sideswiped the cyclist, who lost balance and fell on the opposite lane where he was in turn hit by an incoming tricycle.

The cyclist said he lost consciousness and sustained injuries in different parts of his body, including his neck, forehead, and arms.

His helmet and bicycle were also damaged by the impact.

Prior to the mishap, the cyclist shared that the motorcycle rider behind him kept honking at him, and when he went outside the bike lane, he saw the motorcycle rider staring at him.

The victim then took out his cellphone to take the motorcycle rider’s photo, but the latter thought the former was taking a video of him.

When he regained consciousness, the cyclist said he had trouble breathing and could not move his neck.

An ambulance arrived, and responders tended to the cyclist before bringing him to a hospital for further treatment.

The cyclist has filed a complaint before the Cainta police, who said they will coordinate with the Land Transportation Office to identify the motorcycle rider.
