2 arrested for P20-M jewelry robbery in Calumpit, Bulacan
Two suspects were arrested for a P20-million jewelry robbery at the home of online sellers in Calumpit, Bulacan, according to John Consulta’s Wednesday report on “24 Oras.”
The CCTV footage showed that the two suspects were on board a red vehicle that entered a subdivision.
Police said the suspects found their victims, a couple, through social media.
The suspects were able to profile and test-buy the jewelry since they went directly to the house.
They were later arrested in a follow-up operation, which led to the seizure of a .9mm firearm from one of the suspects as well as some jewelry.
The police were able to locate the suspects after reviewing CCTV footage.
One of them was found to be a suspected criminal gang leader operating in Rizal Province and CALABARZON and is facing multiple charges including theft, carnapping, and robbery.
The police said that aside from forging license plates, the suspects also falsified the conduction stickers attached to their rented vehicles to mislead the investigators.
