2 minors nabbed for stabbing man in Malolos, Bulacan
Three individuals, including two minors, were arrested after allegedly stabbing a man dead during a street fight in Malolos City, Bulacan.
According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s James Paolo Yap in “Saksi” on Wednesday, CCTV footage showed a man on a bicycle stopping upon spotting another man in a black t-shirt in Barangay Caingin in Malolos City on Sunday evening.
The man got off his bike and suddenly punched the man in black, who fell to the ground but quickly got back up.
The man in the black t-shirt and his companion were then seen running away.
In another CCTV footage, they were seen confronting their pursuers and engaging in a fistfight.
Another man wearing a jersey arrived and was confronted by a shirtless man. The shirtless man threw a punch but ended up getting stabbed.
The shirtless man slumped against a wall. A motorcycle eventually arrived to bring the victim – identified as Vincent Carl Soliman – to the hospital.
Soliman was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after suffering a stab wound in the chest.
Three suspects, including two minors, were arrested in a follow-up operation. One of the minor-aged suspects was the one who allegedly stabbed Soliman.
The minor suspects were brought to the Malolos City Social Welfare and Development Office.
The third suspect, a 23-year-old male, is under the custody of the Malolos City Police Station.
“’Yung dalawang CICL (Children in Conflict with the Law) natin is nasa Bahay Kalinga dito po sa Malolos and yung isa po ay dito sa atin sa Malolos detention cell at na-inquest na po sila,” said Lieutenant Colonel Rommel Geneblazo, chief of police of Malolos City.
(Our two CICLs are currently at the Bahay Kalinga here in Malolos, while the other one is at our Malolos detention cell. They have already undergone inquest proceedings.)
The suspects are facing homicide charges.
Woman stabbed dead in Cagayan de Oro
Meanwhile, a woman was also stabbed dead in Barangay Agusan in Cagayan de Oro City on Tuesday.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim’s 26-year-old cousin was behind the stabbing.
This was based on the affidavit of the victim’s 7-year-old son, who witnessed his uncle committing the crime. The victim suffered at least 20 stab wounds.
The boy was able to run away from their house and ask for help from neighbors.
“According to the initial story, the suspect was trying to borrow money and might have gotten angry when he was turned down, but that isn’t really the focus of our investigation yet,” said case investigator Police Master Sergeant Charlie Ganzan of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Station.
