The GMA Kapuso Foundation constructed a flood-resistant school building for a public school in Minalabac, Camarines Sur to help them deal with flooding during typhoons.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, Malitbog Elementary School often got submerged in flood waters which resulted in damage to several of its classrooms.

The school also shelters some families during calamities, but it was not safe during Typhoon Kristine. So in October 2025, GMA Kapuso Foundation started building sturdy classrooms.

After five months, the first flood-resistant Kapuso school building was built with three classrooms on the second floor designed for places that get flooded easily. The first floor is a playground and event hall.

"We base it on the needs of the community," Tracy Cruz, Project Support Assistant Manager of GMA Kapuso Foundation said. "Sila ang nagmungkahe na 'yung paaralang ating itayo two floors."

"Sa GMA Kapuso Foundation, maraming-maraming salamat po. 'Yung number one problem namin sa school, na-solve na, 'yung kakulangan ng classroom," Malitbog Elementary School Principal France Sernal said.

For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee.
