P6.8M shabu seized from suspected shabu laboratory in Puerto Galera

Authorities recently recovered P6.8 million in suspected shabu and other paraphernalia used in manufacturing illegal drugs at an alleged shabu laboratory in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.

In a statement, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said police units and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) implemented a search warrant at the suspected shabu laboratory on Tuesday, March 31 at 9:27 a.m.

They seized 48 containers and various materials containing or having traces of suspected shabu and 11 containers of unidentified liquids, as well as glass filtering flasks, LPG tanks, heavy-duty stove burners, a generator, and other paraphernalia used in manufacturing illegal drugs.

The recovered suspected shabu weighed one kilo and is valued at P6.8 million.

The suspect who was the subject of the search warrant was not present during the raid.

“This operation underscores our relentless drive to dismantle drug networks at their source. Hindi lang natin hinuhuli ang mga sangkot – sinisira natin ang kanilang kakayahang mag-operate (We are not just arresting those involved, we are also destroying their capability to operate),” said PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

“Hindi lang ito laban sa ilegal na droga – ito ay laban para sa proteksyon ng bawat mamamayan (This is not just a fight against illegal drugs, but a fight to protect each citizen). By cutting off supply at the production level, we are protecting communities and supporting the national government’s campaign for a safer, healthier Philippines,” he added. — JMA, GMA News
