Light traffic observed on tollways on Black Saturday morning

Light traffic flow along major expressways was observed on Black Saturday morning, according to traffic updates by toll roads operators.

“Light traffic in all other areas of NLEX–SCTEX–NLEX Connector including toll plazas and interchanges,” the Luzon Expressway (NLEX) said.

The traffic situation across NLEX are as follows: 

• Balintawak Toll Plaza - Light
• Mindanao Toll Plaza - Light
• Bocaue Toll Plaza - Light
• San Fernando Northbound - Light
• San Fernando Southbound - Light

Likewise, the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) recorded light traffic from Alabang to Sto. Tomas in both bounds.

The NAIA Expressway also reported light traffic on all its toll plazas and on/off ramps.

For Skyway, both at-grade and elevates sections from Magallanes to Alabang, the traffic also remained light.

Skyway Stage 3, from Buendia to Balintawak, ligth traffic was also observed along northbound and southbound lanes.

Moreover, the traffic in all areas of the Manila Cavite Expressway and C5 Link was light.

Malacañang earlier declared Black Saturday, April 4, as a special non-working day to allow Filipinos to spend time with their families during the Holy Week break.

Traffic on expressways is expected to build up this weekend as vacationers head back to their homes in time for work on Monday. —Ted Cordero/KG, GMA News
