OCD warns residents near Mayon Volcano about possible pyroclastic fall, ashfall

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) issued a warning on Saturday afternoon amid Mayon Volcano's continued activity

In an advisory posted by the OCD, residents living near Mayon were warned of possible "pyroclastic flow, rockfall, and ashfall."

“Manatili pong naka-alerto, laging mag-ingat, at sumunod sa paalala at babala ng mga awtoridad,” the advisory read.

(Remain alert, always take care, and follow advisories and warnings from the authorities.)

This comes after a lava collapse at the Mayon Volcano was observed at around 4:30 p.m.

Lava effusion with lava flow was also previously seen at Mayon.

Lava flowed down the Basud (3.8 km), Bonga (3.2 km) and Mi-isi (1.3 km) gullies on Friday as episodic minor strombolian activity and short-lived lava fountaining were also observed from 12 a.m. Friday to 12 a.m. Saturday.

Alert Level 3 remains over Mayon Volcano. —VAL, GMA News
