LTO calls out motorist who threatened, hurt female gas station employee

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned a motorist who was caught on video while allegedly threatening and physically hurting a female employee of a gasoline station in Bacoor City, Cavite.

In a statement, the LTO said it also summoned the registered owner of the vehicle to a hearing at its Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) on April 14 at 1 p.m.

Both respondents were ordered to explain why they should not be held liable for the incident, which allegedly stemmed from a dispute over a fuel transaction.

The driver should explain why he or she should not be held liable for violating traffic rules and for being an improper person to drive a motor vehicle, which may result in the revocation of the driver’s license.

In the meantime, the driver’s license was placed under a 90-day preventive suspension while the vehicle was also placed under an LTO alarm.

The LTO reminded the respondents that their failure to appear on the date of the hearing and submit a written explanation will be considered a waiver of their right to be heard, and that the case will be resolved based on available evidence. — JMA, GMA News
