Tamban fish dumped in Bulan, Sorsogon beach due to low sales, demand

A batch of Tamban fish was dumped on the beach in Bulan, Sorsogon after fishermen were unable to sell them.

According to a “Saksi” report on Monday, the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) in the town of Bulan said several fishermen arrived on Saturday with their catch but due to the abundant supply, not all of the fish were sold.

Aside from the low demand, canning operations were temporarily halted due to the Holy Week holiday.

The price of the fish also dropped to about six pesos per five kilos.
