Batangas police director faces raps over 'inappropriate acts'
An administrative complaint has been filed against the director of the Batangas Police Provincial Office over alleged unwelcome physical contact and inappropriate remarks, the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) said Tuesday.
NAPOLCOM said a female police officer personally filed the complaint before the commission against Police Colonel Marlon Ventura Rufo, citing grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
GMA News Online sought comment from the Batangas police for Rufo’s side but had yet to receive a response as of posting time.
“The complaint, executed through a sworn affidavit, details a series of alleged incidents that occurred between February and March 2026,” NAPOLCOM said in a statement.
According to the commission, the complaint involves “unwelcome physical contact, inappropriate remarks, and actions that caused distress to the complainant.”
The alleged acts were reportedly committed during official duties and within police premises.
“According to the affidavit, the respondent, being a senior-ranking official, allegedly took advantage of his position of authority, raising serious concerns about abuse of power, workplace safety, and professional conduct within the police organization,” NAPOLCOM said.
The complaint will undergo proper administrative proceedings in accordance with existing laws and regulations, the commission added.
NAPOLCOM said the case will be handled with urgency and impartiality, while ensuring due process and the protection of the rights of all parties involved.
It also reiterated its call for all members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, respect, and integrity, emphasizing that leadership must always be anchored on accountability and moral authority.—MCG, GMA News
