Hunt on for jewelry shop robbers in Davao City mall
Police are pursuing the suspects in a robbery-holdup at a jewelry store inside a mall in Buhangin, Davao City on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Based on investigation, the suspects reportedly declared a holdup and carted away jewelry items before fleeing on scooter-type motorcycles.
Personnel of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) responded and secured the area.
Follow-up operations were then conducted, including review of CCTV footage, recovery of vital evidence, and forensic processing.
Members of the Scene of the Crime operatives (SOCO) also collected multiple fingerprints, which have been subjected to analysis to identify the perpetrators.
Later, authorities recovered several motorcycles, believed to be the suspects’ getaway vehicles, which are now subject to further examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
DCPO launched an intensified manhunt operation, intelligence-driven tracking, and checkpoint and dragnet operations.
“We assure the public that the Davao City Police Office is relentlessly pursuing this case. We will exhaust all efforts and resources to ensure that those responsible are held accountable. Criminal elements have no place in our city,” DCPO Director, Col. Peter Madria, said.
Authorities urged those who have information to come forward and coordinate with the police.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, police have reportedly identified persons of interest but refused to identify them so as not to jeopardize the ongoing probe. —GMA Regional TV
