Authorities arrested two men in Bustos, Bulacan, for allegedly stealing motorcycles using a stolen closed van.

According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” Tuesday, personnel of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) found an abandoned closed van after receiving a report that two men had left it behind.

The PNP-HPG later arrested the first suspect, who pointed investigators to the location of his accomplice, leading to the latter’s arrest. Both suspects, however, refused to provide further details.

Authorities said the suspects’ group allegedly roamed communities and stole parked motorcycles using the closed van.

Investigators said the suspects initially rented the vehicle to transport household items but failed to return it to the owner and instead used it in a series of motorcycle thefts, particularly in Central Luzon.

Some of the recovered motorcycles were reportedly taken from Luzon and transported to Mindanao, while others were brought back to Luzon.

The investigation also showed that the closed van used in the operations was flagged after authorities traced it through CCTV footage.
