The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has approved the accreditation of 10 regional parliamentary political parties that would participate in the 2026 Bangsamoro parliamentary elections.
The accredited political parties are as follows:
- Bangsamoro Party
- Bangsamoro Tri-Peoples Party
- Bangsamoro People's Democratic Party
- Bangsamoro Empowerment and Social Transformation Party
- Progresibong Bangsamoro Party
- Bangsamoro People's Party
- Bangsamoro Federalist Party
- Bangsamoro Grand Coalition
- Moro Ako Party
- Indigenous, Settlers, Sama and Minorities Alliance Party
The Comelec said the political parties were allowed to participate in the September 14 polls after a review found that their instant petitions and supporting documents were "sufficient in form and fully compliant with the documentary and publication requirements set forth in Sections 40 and 41, Rule III, Article IV of Comelec Resolution No. 11203 in relation to Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 35."
Meanwhile, the application for accreditation of the People's Consultative (Mushawara) party was dismissed for failing to comply with the documentary requirement.
The Comelec reopened the application period for the registration and accreditation for Regional Parliamentary Political Parties and coalitions that want to join the Bangsamoro elections from March 17 to March 20, 2026. The deadline was extended until April 6 due to the observance of Eid'l Fitr and Holy Week. —VBL, GMA News
