PDEA: Over P61M worth of 'shabu' seized, 4 suspects nabbed in Cavite buy-bust

Some P61.2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized and four suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bacao 1, General Trias, Cavite on Sunday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.

In a statement on Monday, PDEA said its operatives, in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP), recovered nine kilograms of suspected shabu inside nine blue foil packs labeled “very delicious.”

The arrested suspects were identified as 45-year-old “Asil,” 28-year-old “Almukrim,” 24-year-old “Alshamier,” and 32-year-old “Dharwina.”

Also seized in the operations were the buy-bust money, three identification cards, two mobile phones, and a black van, PDEA said.

The suspects are currently under the custody of authorities pending the filing of appropriate charges, according to PDEA.

PDEA said they will face charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“PDEA reiterates its commitment to intensify anti-drug operations in coordination with partner law enforcement agencies and urges the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting government efforts by reporting suspicious activities through official channels,” the anti-illegal drug agency said. —AOL, GMA News
