2 suspects arrested after Bulacan road altercation escalated into gun threat

Two suspects were arrested after a road altercation escalated into a gun threat in Norzagaray, Bulacan as seen in a viral video, according to the provincial police on Thursday

In a press briefing, Bulacan Police Provincial Office chief Police Colonel Jay Baybayan said the incident happened in Barangay Minuyan around 4 p.m. on May 3.

“Noong nagkagitgitan po sila, binaba po noong kapatid noong driver, itong salamin niya, at nagsalita po at sinita po niya bakit ganun ang nangyari,” he said.

(When they were driving close to each other, the driver's sibling opened the window and called out the suspects on board a motorcycle for what happened.)

“Lalo lamang pong hindi po umayos 'yung pagmamaneho noong mga naka-motor at lalo po nilang inipit itong naka-SUV,” he added.

(But the motorcycle just got closer to the SUV.)

The confrontation reportedly turned into a physical altercation before it was stopped. However, the suspects allegedly threatened the victim before leaving the area.

After the altercation, the suspects allegedly followed the victim to his residence after the sideswiping incident. Police said the suspects returned with another armed individual.

The victim reportedly hid while the suspects damaged his SUV and parts of his house. One of the suspects was also allegedly seen pointing a firearm at another witness.

Responding operatives from the Norzagaray Municipal Police Station on May 4 arrested two of the three suspects identified as alias Bri and alias Bert.

Another suspect identified as alias JC remains at large.

Complaints for trespass to dwelling, grave threat, and malicious mischief were filed against the arrested suspects before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Malolos City.

Police said verification showed that the at-large suspect owns a registered caliber .45 firearm but does not possess a valid License to Own and Possess Firearms.

Authorities are continuing operations to locate and arrest the remaining suspect.

“We will not tolerate any form of violence and intimidation in our communities. Our intensified operations will continue to ensure that all law violators are held accountable,” Baybayan said. —AOL, GMA News
