Luzon Grid yellow alert lifted — NGCP

The yellow alert status for the Luzon grid was lifted early Thursday morning, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced.

The yellow alert status was lifted at 2:03 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026.

The Available Capacity is now at 11,982MW while peak demand is 11,194MW.

Red and yellow alerts were hoisted over the Luzon power grid on Wednesday afternoon to evening due to forced outages of several power plants.

A yellow alert is declared when the reserve power in the grid becomes low. While supply is still enough to meet current demand, it no longer reaches the required safety margin.

At this level, the possibility of rotational power interruptions increases. — BAP, GMA News
