Red alert over Visayas Grid lifted on Friday evening — NGCP

The red alert status over the Visayas Grid was lifted late Friday evening, the National Grid Corporation Philippines (NGCP) announced.

The NGCP said that the red alert status was lifted by 10:24 p.m.

The available capacity was at 2,397MW and peak demand at 2,355MW.

However, NGCP said, the Visayas grid is still on yellow alert until 11 p.m.

"A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid's contingency requirement," it added. — BAP, GMA News
