Drunk woman falls asleep on street in Cebu City

A drunk woman caused traffic along B. Rodriguez Street in Cebu City on Tuesday morning after she fell asleep on the road.

According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Allan Domingo in “24 Oras,” the woman caught the attention of the motorists at around 6 a.m.

City responders and other law enforcers arrived on the scene and brought her to the Cebu City Medical Center.

The taxi driver said the woman came from a bar and was drunk when she rode his cab. He added that she was crying during the trip.

The woman suddenly got out of the cab to lie down on the ground.

“She kept on crying because of her problem. She seemed to be drunk and came from the bar,” the taxi driver said.

“She said that she wants to take her own life. But I told her that she should not jump out of my taxi because I would be involved,” he added.

Authorities have yet to comment on the incident. They are also still determining the legal actions to be taken against the woman after her behavior resulted in a traffic slowdown. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/JMA, GMA News
