A three-year-old girl who went missing for a day was found dead behind a chapel in Mountain Province on Sunday.

According to Raffy Tima’s report in “24 Oras” on Tuesday, Thea Bonbon was last seen playing in her community in Natonin on Saturday afternoon. She was later reported missing.

She was eventually found behind the St. Martin de Porres Chapel in Sitio Batnong on Sunday morning.

The Natonin police said there were wounds on the victim’s head. She was brought to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival due to traumatic brain injuries.

Thea is a daughter of a single mom who left town for a while to find work. She was left in the care of her grandparents.

“... As of now, we don’t have a person of interest yet but the investigation is still ongoing,” said PNP Natonin chief investigator Police Senior Master Sergeant Cesar Pagod. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/JMA, GMA News
