Iloilo, Negros Occidental face up to 12 hours of power interruption

Residents in parts of Iloilo and Negros Occidental will experience power interruptions of up to 12 hours over the weekend and next week due to scheduled maintenance activities on transmission lines, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced.

The planned outages are necessary to allow maintenance works on some power lines. Affected areas are expected to experience temporary service disruptions during the scheduled maintenance period.

The list of affected areas is as follows:

Iloilo
Schedule: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Affected: Iloilo Electric Cooperative Inc. (San Miguel, Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Miagao, San Joaquin Substations)
Reason: Woodpole replacement along the 69kV Sta. Barabara - Miagao - San Joaquin Line and Preventive maintenance works of the 75MVA Transformer No. 3 at Sta. Barbara Substation

Negros Occidental
Schedule: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 5 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Affected: NOCECO ( Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative ) (Naga Overflow, Cauayan and Mambaroto Substations)
Reason: Maintenance activities along the Naga - Overflow 69kV line section

Negros Occidental
Schedule: Sunday, June 7, 2026, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Affected: NOCECO ( Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative ) (Cauayan and Mambaroto Substations)
Reason: Maintenance activities along Kabankalan-Sipalay 69kV line section

Negros Occidental
Schedule: Sunday, June 7, 2026, 5 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Affected: NOCECO ( Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative ) (Naga Substation)
Reason: Maintenance activities along Kabankalan-Sipalay - 69kV line section

Negros Occidental
Schedule: Monday, June 8, 2026, 5 a.m. - 6 a.m.
Affected: NOCECO ( Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative ) (Naga and Overflow Substations)
Reason: Maintenance activities along the Kabankalan - Sipalay 69kV line.

NGCP said the specific affected areas are determined by the electric cooperative. It added it will exert efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled. —LDF, GMA News
