Waist-deep flooding hits parts of Cebu City
Several areas in Cebu City experienced waist-deep flooding following heavy rains on Wednesday, a report on "Saksi" said on Friday.
Motorists navigated floodwaters that reached waist level along Jakosalem Street. Motorcycle riders were seen pushing their vehicles through what had become a river-like road.
It took some time for the floodwaters to recede on Osmeña Boulevard due to garbage clogging the drainage system. Volunteers worked together to clear the debris and help restore the flow of water.
In General Santos City on Thursday, a tricycle driver safely crossed a swollen river. Flooding was also reported in several parts of Zamboanga City due to bad weather.
The state weather bureau PAGASA officially declared the start of the rainy season on Thursday. — VBL, GMA News
