2 arrested, P13.6M shabu seized in Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental drug bust

Two high-value drug suspects were arrested and P13.6 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated in a buy-bust operation in Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental on Sunday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

In a statement, the PNP said the anti-narcotics operation was carried out in Barangay Cabantian in Magsaysay town.

The joint operation of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, other police units, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) yielded two kilos of suspected shabu.

“Patuloy ang ating maigting na kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga. Ang ganitong mga operasyon ay patunay ng ating determinasyon na protektahan ang bawat komunidad,” PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

(We will continue our campaign against illegal drugs. These operations are proof of our determination to protect each community.)

He added that the PNP will continue to enhance its operational effectiveness to ensure safer and more secure communities nationwide.

The confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for examination. — JMA, GMA News
