General Santos Airport ops suspended after magnitude 7.8 earthquake — CAAP

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said Monday the operations at the General Santos Airport have been temporarily suspended following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake and tsunami warning in Mindanao.

In a statement, the CAAP added that a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) is in effect from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Assessments of air navigation facilities, equipment, and operational capabilities are currently underway to ensure the continued safety and integrity of airport operations,” the CAAP said.

“Passengers are advised to coordinate with their respective airlines for updates on the status of their flights,” it added. — RSJ, GMA News
