Magnitude 6.6 quake hits Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental

A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
The tremor occurred at 5:18 p.m., with its epicenter located at 05.77°N, 127.27°E, or 164 km south-southeast of Governor Generoso.
PHIVOLCS said the earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 86 kilometers.
It was later downgraded to a magnitude 6.2 earthquake with a depth of 94 kilometers.
No damage is expected from the quake, but residents are advised to remain alert for possible aftershocks.—MCG, GMA News
