Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon inspected a viral, unfinished portion of Arzadon Road in Barangay Mayombo, Dagupan City on Tuesday.

Following his site visit, the DPWH reported that the viral road has already been paved as of June 16.

“Joshua, maraming salamat. Dahil sa pag-upload mo, natapos na rin ito, finally. Buti pinaalam mo sa amin,” Dizon said to the uploader of the viral video.

(Joshua, thank you very much. Because of the video you uploaded, this has finally been completed. I’m glad you brought this to our attention.)

In a video uploaded on June 4, netizen Joshua De Vera showed himself walking along the narrow elevated sidewalks of the road, which also serve as drainage structures.

Meanwhile, the center of the road remained submerged in stagnant floodwater. De Vera, taking a humorous swipe at the situation, called the flooded infrastructure a "high-tech" project.

“Maraming salamat po sa DPWH, malaking tulong po itong kanal na binigay ninyo. ‘Yung tubig nasa gitna. Buti na lang may mga ganitong project, sana dumami pa yung mga ganito,” De Vera said in the video.

(Thank you very much to the DPWH. This drainage system you provided is a huge help. The water is right in the middle [of the street]. It's a good thing we have projects like this. I hope we get more of them.) —Lyjah Tiffany Bonzo/LDF, GMA News
