Bank workers attacked, cash seized in Bukidnon armed robbery
Robbers carted away a bag containing cash after attacking bank employees in Barangay Damilang, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Police said the victims were a 30-year-old bank driver, a 26-year-old loans processor, and a 21-year-old security guard.
Based on investigation, the victims were traveling from their bank in Crossing, Libona to Land Bank in Manolo Fortich town to deposit money when two unidentified suspects on board a pickup truck disembarked and fired several shots at them using both short and long firearms.
The bank driver and the security guard also got off their vehicle and returned fire. However, the guard’s gun ran out of bullets eventually.
The suspects then approached the victims’ car and ordered the loans processor to hand over a bag containing cash intended for deposit.
Authorities are still verifying the amount of money taken by the suspects, who then fled after the incident.
The victims’ car sustained eight visible bullet holes on its windshield caused by the gunfire.
Police officers then launched an operation to intercept and arrest the fleeing suspects.
Later, authorities found in in Barangay Alae, Manolo Fortich an abandoned pickup truck believed to have been used by the suspects.
Investigators processed the vehicle and collected pieces of evidence that could support in the investigation.
“Hot pursuit and dragnet operations remain underway as authorities continue to track the suspects and pursue all available leads,” Police Regional office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) said.
PRO-10 also urged those who have knowledge about the incident to come forward and coordinate with authorities. —Alwen Saliring/GMA Regional TV News
