P27.5M shabu hidden in beauty products seized at Clark port

Authorities intercepted more than P27.5 million worth of suspected shabu concealed inside beauty products at the Port of Clark in Pampanga, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) said.

The shipment, which originated from the United States, was bound for a recipient in Mandaluyong City, according to authorities.

Customs officials discovered more than four kilograms of suspected shabu hidden inside the products during inspection.

The illegal drugs have been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for laboratory examination and further investigation.

Authorities are still working to identify the sender of the shipment and the intended recipient.

The seizure forms part of ongoing efforts by customs and anti-drug authorities to prevent illegal drugs from entering the country through international cargo shipments. —with reports from Balitanghali, GMA Regional TV News
