Illegal LPG refilling operation busted in Laguna

Authorities raided an illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) operation in Barangay San Ignacio, San Pablo, Laguna on Thursday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit 4A arrested two individuals and seized equipment and LPG products worth an estimated P8.2 million.

"The operation resulted in the seizure of assorted LPG cylinders, both filled and empty, along with decanting equipment, a weighing scale, and a truck tractor with trailer loaded with an estimated 19 tons of LPG," the PNP said.

The arrested suspects and the seized items are now in the custody of the operating unit for proper documentation and legal proceedings.

The PNP said follow-up operations are underway to locate the remaining suspect and determine the full extent of the illegal operation. — Lyjah Tiffany Bonzo/VBL, GMA News
