Magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolts General Luna, Surigao del Norte

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred off northeast General Luna in Surigao del Norte early Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The quake that occurred at 5:17 a.m. was tectonic in origin with a depth of 10 kilometers.

PHIVOLCS said there are no damages expected but there will be aftershocks. — BAP, GMA News
