New OFW Lounge opened at Mactan-Cebu International Airport

Another branch of the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) lounge was launched at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said Saturday.

“Kauna-unahan po ito sa mga kababayan natin sa Cebu at sa Visayas. At maganda pong opportunity ito para ma-extend ‘yung services ng OWWA, ng DMW (Department of Migrant Workers), ng pamahalaan, para sa ating mga kababayan,” said OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan.

(This is a first for our countrymen in Cebu and the Visayas. And this is a good opportunity to extend the services of OWWA, the DMW (Department of Migrant Workers), and the government, for our countrymen.)

OWWA said the facility is the third international OFW Lounge managed by the agency under its "Alagang OWWA" program, and is among the newest lounges aside from those in NAIA Terminals 1 and 3.

The OFW Lounge has a seating capacity of 80 and provides free food and refreshments, comfortable resting areas, free Wi-Fi charging stations and an assistance desk for the various needs of OFWs, the agency said.

OWWA's frontline services, including membership registration and renewal, OWWA e-card issuance and other welfare and social protection services are also available at the lounge for faster and easier access of OFWs with their benefits, it added. —VAL, GMA News
