TIMELINE: Tacloban City school shooting incident by the minute

The shooting spree at the San Jose National High School lasted for at least 11 minutes before the first suspect, the 15-year-old student armed with a revolver, was arrested by the authorities.

According to the timeline presented by police during the Senate hearing on Wednesday, the 14-year-old suspect — allegedly armed with his police officer aunt’s Glock 17 pistol — was arrested an hour later outside the school campus.

See the minute-by-minute series of events on that fateful day in this timeline:

7:07 a.m. – CCTV footage showed 14-year-old alias “Nash,” one of the two minor suspects, outside the school premises.

7:07 a.m. – Nash entered the school through the main gate.

7:08 a.m. – He joined the line for the flag-raising ceremony.

8:09 a.m. – Nash met up with 15-year-old alias “Rod” at Building 1, a structure near the school’s main gate.

8:12 a.m. – The two suspects went to the restroom.

8:27 a.m. – They left the restroom, with Nash changing from his school uniform into a white sweatshirt, black vest, fatigue pants, boots and gloves.

9:13 a.m. – The suspects allegedly began firing indiscriminately. CCTV footage showed students panicking and scrambling for safety.

9:16 a.m. – Police received the first report of the incident through their emergency hotline.

9:17 a.m. – A civilian personally reported the incident at the police station.

9:18 a.m. – CCTV footage showed Nash walking back and forth between the blue and green buildings.

9:19 a.m. – Police arrived at the scene. Around the same time, Rod went to the basketball court from the Cariño Building and allegedly acted as though he was not involved in the incident. Personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection also arrived at the school.

9:20 a.m. – Additional police investigators arrived at the scene.

9:24 a.m. – Authorities subdued Rod, as seen in videos circulating online.

9:25 a.m. – Ron was escorted out of the school and taken to the police station.

10:15 a.m. – Civilians located Nash and turned him over to authorities.

10:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. – Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) processed the crime scene.
