DILG's most wanted fugitive arrested after 15 years in hiding
A man listed among the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s most wanted fugitives was arrested after evading authorities for 15 years.
According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report on "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday, the suspect, identified only by the alias “Joey,” was arrested by the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group in Olongapo City.
He is facing charges in connection with the killing of a police lieutenant colonel and a minor in Baguio City.
Authorities said the crime stemmed from a land dispute.
“Ang motibo sa ano ay pagkakautang. Pumapasok siya [sa] kung ano-anong trabaho,” said PNP-HPG director Rommel Batangan.
(The motive is linked to debt. He took on various jobs.)
Police said they were able to track down the suspect through information provided by informants.
