Elderly man pursued for allegedly molesting girl in Cotabato

Authorities are pursuing an elderly man who allegedly molested a nine-year-old girl in Kabacan, Cotabato.

CCTV footage from an inn on Friday, July 3, 2026, showed the elderly bringing the young girl into a room. Moments later, the girl ran out of the room, followed by the man.

In another footage, the man was seen approaching the cashier and allegedly requesting a refund of his payment.

According to the girl’s mother, her child was supposedly on her way home from school when the incident happened.

The man allegedly approached the girl and offered to help carry her belongings but instead brought her to an inn.

Inside the room, the man allegedly kissed the child on the face, prompting the victim to push him away and run.

The suspect allegedly told the cashier that the child was his daughter in order to gain access to the establishment.

The local government of Kabacan has offered a P100,000 reward for anyone who can provide information that can lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

At present, the child is with her parents and is expected to receive intervention from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD). —Efren Yunting Mamac, GMA Regional TV News
