The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) recorded another minor phreatomagmatic eruption at Taal Volcano on Sunday evening.

The eruption began at 8:27 p.m. and lasted for about three minutes.

According to PHIVOLCS, the event generated jets of ash and steam-rich plumes that rose 1,200 meters above the main crater before drifting northeast.

Alert Level 1 remains in effect over Taal Volcano, indicating a low level of volcanic unrest.

Under Alert Level 1, entry into the Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) remains strictly prohibited. —MCG, GMA News
