3 suspected cattle rustlers killed in shootout in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines - Three suspected cattle rustlers were killed in an encounter with policemen in Silang, Cavite, Thursday morning. In his report in GMA’s 24 Oras, Chino Gaston said patrolling village watchmen and police chanced upon the suspects while in the act slaughtering the two cows they stole from one Joselito Diasgada in Balubad 1 village. The three were identified as Leo Lotilla, Ariel Lotilla, and Reynaldo Mapalad. A fourth unidentified suspect was able to escape, according to the television report. “Bigla silang namaril (They shot us),” said C/Insp. Christopher Olazo, Silang Police chief. Recovered from the suspects were two caliber .38 revolver, a homemade gun, knives, ropes and the tricycle they were using in their operations. - GMANews.TV
