A truck loaded with soil swerved to avoid a van but hits an oncoming vehicle in Batangas, according to the report of Joseph Morong in "Saksi."

CCTV footage showed a truck avoiding a van that was leaving a terminal in Tuy, Batangas. However, the truck loses its balance and began to tilt to one side hitting an oncoming AUV.

Tuy Police Station investigator Police Staff Sgt. Gerardo Bista said the truck was on its way to Cavite when it swerved to avoid the van. But coincidentally, there was an oncoming vehicle. So when the truck swerved, then fell on the oncoming vehicle covering it with soil.

The police and personnel from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office quickly worked to rescue the driver of the AUV.

It took the emergency responders three hours to pry the driver free from his vehicle. He was then brought to the hospital for treatment.

The truck driver is in the custody of the police and may face charges including reckless imprudence resulting to damage to property and physical injury.

The truck driver has yet to issue a statement as of posting. — BAP, GMA News
