President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has gained quite a reputation with his off-the-cuff speeches laced with choice words that get bleeped out in the newscasts.

While his longtime city administrator and speechwriter Melchor Quitain said there will be no invectives in Duterte's inaugural address,  not a few Filipinos are anticipating how colorful his speech will be after he takes the oath of office on Thursday, June 30.

Inaugural speeches have always been the rallying call of every president at the start of their respective administrations. Here are excerpts from speeches of past Philippine presidents.
