‘Reporter’s Notebook,’ ‘Sa Isa Kong Boto’ GMA ad win top Asian TV honors


“Reporter's Notebook" of the GMA Network was a recipient of the Best Current Affairs Show award in the recently concluded Asian Television Awards held in Singapore. The show's hosts Jiggy Manicad and Maki Pulido and program manager Clyde Mercado accepted the award. Eight other shows of GMA News and Public Affairs were also listed finalists of the television awards. These were 24 Oras' "Typhoon Milenyo" episode for Best Newscast; Philippine Agenda "Education" and Emergency's "Batang Magsusunog", both for Best Social Awareness Program; Reporter's Notebook hosts Jiggy Manicad and Maki Pulido for Best Current Affairs Program Hosts; Wish Ko Lang! "Maestro" episode for Best Reality Program and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho for Best Infotainment Show. The Asian TV Awards is Asia's biggest and most prestigious competition for television programs. Meanwhile, GMA's election advocacy campaign "Sa Isa Kong Boto" was adjudged the Best Television Ad Campaign at the Apollo Awards (the advertising equivalent of the Asian TV Awards). The Best TV Ad prize was the grand prize at the competition. The GMA Network Public Affairs' campaign bested the competition from the top advertising agencies, including the multinational agencies, in Asia. Program Manager Neil Gumban, who conceptualized the campaign, and Monti Parungao, who directed it, received the award in Singapore. - GMANews.TV
