Arrest warrant at HDO, ipinalabas ng Sandiganbayan vs Ligot

Hindi basta makalalabas ng bansa si retired Lt. Gen. Jacinto Ligot matapos magpalabas ng arrest warrants at hold departure order ang Sandiganbayan First Division laban sa dating comptroller ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.   Ang arrest warrants at hold departure order ay ipinalabas ng korte ay kaugnay sa kinakaharap nitong 11 counts of perjury charges na isinampa laban sa kanya ng Office of the Ombudsman noong nakaraang Abril 13.   “After perusing the informations and evaluating the resolution of the prosecutor, the evidence in support thereof and the records of the preliminary investigation attached thereto, it appears that sufficient grounds exist for the finding of probable cause for the purpose of issuing a warrant of arrest against the accused charged in the instant cases,” nakasaad sa desisyon ng graft court.   Ang desisyon ay pinirmahan nina Associate Justices Efren N. de la Cruz, chairman ng debisyon, Rodolfo A. Ponferrada at Rafael R. Lagos.   Itinakda ng korte ang piyansa ni Ligot sa P6,000 sa bawat kaso o kabuuang P66,000.   Ang kopya ng arrest warrant ay ipinamahagi na sa National Bureau of Investigation, Quezon City Police District, PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at sa National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).   Samantala, ang hiwalay na kautusan sa HDO ipinadala naman sa Bureau of Immigration na nagsasaad na hindi maaaring makalabas ng bansa si Ligot kung walang pahintulot ng Sandiganbayan.   Ang perjury cases ay may kaugnayan sa forfeiture case na isinampa kay Ligot at sa kanyang asawa, mga anak at kamag-anak dahil sa umano'y hindi maipaliwanag na yaman na umaabot sa P135.28 milyon. - RP/FRJ, GMA News
