Pagsabog sa Davao City, 'di bababa sa 10 katao ang patay; nasa 60 iba pa, sugatan

Isang pagsabog ang naganap sa night market sa Roxas Street, Davao City nitong Biyernes ng gabi na nagresulta sa pagkasawi ng hindi bababa sa 10 katao, at pagkakasugat ng nasa 60 iba pa.

"An explosion of still unverified cause occurred at the Davao night market resulting in the death of at least 10 persons and around 60 people injured," saad sa ipinalabas na pahayag ni Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella.

Dagdag pa sa pahayag, "While no one has yet claimed responsibility it is best that the populace refrain from reckless speculation and avoid crowded places."

Bagaman wala umanong dahilan ang publiko para mabahala, makabubuting maging alerto at mapagmatyag.

Ilang oras makaraan ang pagsabog, nagtungo sa lugar ng pinangyarihan ng insidente si Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.

Inihayag niya sa isang panayam ng GMA News "Saksi," na ilan sa mga nasawi ay nasa lugar kung saan maaaring magpamasahe ang mga namamasyal sa nabanggit na lugar.

Ayon sa bise alkalde, nagtungo naman ang kaniyang ama na si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Davao City police office.

"It's a sad day for Davao and for the Philippines," saad  ni vice mayor Paolo sa inilabas niyang pahayag.

"Let us pray for the victims of this unfortunate incident, especially for those who died.  Let us pray for those who are being treated in different hospitals and pray for their quick recovery," dagdag niya.

Bagaman patuloy ang imbestigasyon sa dahilan ng pagsabog, hinigpitan na ng pulisya ang seguridad sa Davao City at naglagay ng mga checkpoint.

"A thorough investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the explosion and checkpoints/chokepoints were already established at all exit points in the city," saad sa text message ni Chief Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan, PNP director sa Davao region.

"We call on all the people to be vigilant at all times and report to the police any suspicious packages or persons," ayon pa sa opisyal.

Samantala, sa Twitter post ni James Agustin ng dzBB radio, sinabi nito na naghigpit na rin ng seguridad sa Metro Manila si National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde.
