Reklamong impeachment kay VP Sara, ipinasa na sa House Speaker

Pormal nang ipinasa ni House Secretary General Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil ang dalawang reklamong impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte sa tanggapan ni Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III.

Sa isang pahayag nitong Biyernes, sinabi ni Garafil na ipinasa ang mga dokumento noong Huwebes ng hapon matapos makumpleto ng kaniyang tanggapan ang pagtanggap at beripikasyon ng mga reklamo at ang mga pag-endoso rito.

“Upon receipt and verification of the complaints and their accompanying endorsements, the Office of the Secretary General forwarded the documents to the Office of the Speaker for appropriate action,” sabi ni Garafil.

Inihain ang unang beripikadong reklamong impeachment ng mga miyembro ng Makabayan Coalition at inendoso nina ACT Teachers party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio, Gabriela Women’s Party Rep. Sarah Jane Elago, at Kabataan party-list Rep. Renee Louise Co.

Kabilang sa mga nagrereklamo ang kasalukuyan at dating mga progresibong mambabatas at pinuno kabilang sina France Castro, Arlene Brosas, Liza Maza, Neri Colmenares, Renato Reyes Jr., Raymond Palatino, at iba pa.

Ang ikalawang impeachment complaint ay inendoso nina Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima at Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña.

Ang mga nagpepetisyon ay mula sa mga progresibong organisasyon at civil society groups kabilang sina Francis Joseph Aquino Dee, Sylvia Estrada Claudio, Teresita Quintos Deles, dating Ifugao Rep. Teodoro Baguilat Jr., at labor leader Josua Mata, at iba pa.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon, chairperson ng House public accounts committee at miyembro ng justice committee, na inaasahang isasama sa Order of Business ng plenaryo sa Pebrero 9, 2026 ang mga ipinadalang reklamong impeachment.

Gayunpaman, sinabi niyang hindi nito pinipigilan ang isang-katlo ng miyembro ng Kamara na i-endoso ang mga artikulo ng impeachment laban kay Duterte “for direct transmittal to the Senate, so long as no plenary referral has yet been made to the House Committee on Justice.” —Jamil Santos/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
