Pope Francis meets group of Filipino bishops in Rome
Pope Francis met with a group of bishops from the Philippines for their ad Limina Apostolorum visit in Rome, Italy on Monday, May 20.
In the photos posted by the Vatican News, Filipino bishops including Cardinal Tagle and Archbishop Soc Villegas were seen surrounding the Pope during the meeting where they reported the condition of their dioceses in the Philippines.
The ad Limina Apostolorum visit is a pilgrimage to the tomb of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. It is required for bishops to do it every three to ten years.
Most of the bishops came from different dioceses and archdioceses in the northern Luzon, according to Vatican News.
