Magnitude 6.5 earthquake strikes Alaska —USGS


A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck about 71 km (44 miles) southeast of Nikolski, Alaska early on Tuesday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The magnitude of the earthquake was revised down from earlier 6.7 and 6.8 estimates and was at a depth of 11.2 km, the USGS said. — Reuters
