Marcos appoints Benito Techico as special envoy to China

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday named Benito Techico as his special envoy to China for trade, investments, and tourism.

Techico took his oath before Marcos on Tuesday, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

The Office of the President said Marcos expressed his hope that his appointment would bring “new opportunities for economic development, growth and most importantly, peace and stability between the Philippines and China.”

Techico will also work with other government officials, business leaders, and other stakeholders to promote and improve economic cooperation between the two nations, the PCO said.

Techico is the former Chief Executive Officer and President of Philippine Blue Cross Biotech Corporation prior to his appointment.
