The Philippine Embassy in Norway hosted a three-day exhibit in Oslo from November 6 to 9, featuring paintings of the Philippine Eagle.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the exhibit, “AGILAkbay: An Exhibition of Philippine Eagle Paintings,” showcased 15 artworks portraying the eagle at different stages of life.

“The art exhibition is more than a cultural diplomacy activity; it raises awareness about the conservation of the Philippine Eagle, an endangered species endemic to the Philippines,” Philippine Ambassador to Norway Enrico Fos said. He also urged continued protection of the country’s endemic plants and animals.

The exhibit was organized in partnership with the Philippine Botanical Art Society (PhilBAS) and Philippine Fauna Art Society (PhilFAS) founder Bing Famoso, who aims to donate Philippine Eagle paintings to all Philippine embassies and consulates general.

“Conservation begins with awareness… and awareness begins with art,” Famoso said.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
