7.2 magnitude earthquake jolts Vanuatu; no tsunami threat to PH —Phivolcs

A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean on Monday, but there is no tsunami threat, Phivolcs and another monitoring agency said.
According to Phivolcs, the quake was recorded at 4:44 p.m. at a depth of 88 km. "No tsunami threat to the Philippines," the agency said.
In a Reuters advisory, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) measured the quake's magnitude at 7.0 and its depth at 130 km.
The US Tsunami Warning Center also said there was no tsunami threat from the earthquake. — BM, GMA Integrated News
