RAINFALL ALERT: Orange in Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan (Sunday, 8 p.m.)

An Orange rainfall warning has been raised over Zambales and portions of Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Bulacan as of Sunday evening—a downgrade from the Red warnings issued earlier in the day.

Amid the heavy rain due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), PAGASA raised Orange and Yellow rainfall warnings over the following areas in its 8 p.m. advisory:

Orange Rainfall Warning (Flooding is still threatening)
• Zambales
• Bataan (Abucay, Bagac, Balanga, Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Morong, Orani, Orion, Pilar, Samal)
• Tarlac (Mayantoc, San Jose, Capas, Bamban, San Clemente, Camiling, Santa Ignacia)
• Pampanga (Porac, Floridablanca, Lubao, Sasmuan, Apalit, Bacolor, San Fernando, Macabebe, Masantol, Mexico, Minalin, San Luis, San Simon, Santa Ana, Santo Tomas, Angeles, Mabalacat, Guagua, Santa Rita)
• Bulacan (Hagonoy, Calumpit, Paombong, Malolos)

Yellow Rainfall Warning (Flooding in flood-prone areas)
• Nueva Ecija
• Metro Manila
• Tarlac (Concepcion, Anao, Tarlac City, Gerona, La Paz, Paniqui, Pura, Ramos, San Manuel, Victoria, Moncada)
• Pampanga (Arayat, Candaba, Magalang)
• Bulacan (Angat, Balagtas, Baliuag, Bocaue, Bulakan, Bustos, Meycauayan, San Jose del Monte, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Guiguinto, Marilao, Norzagaray, Obando, Pandi, Plaridel, Pulilan, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, San Rafael, Santa Maria)
• Rizal (Antipolo, Rodriguez, San Mateo, Cainta, Taytay)
• Cavite (General Trias, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Magallanes, Maragondon, Ternate, Trece Martires, Bacoor, Cavite City, Imus, Kawit, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza)
• Batangas (Nasugbu)
• Bataan (Limay, Mariveles)

According to PAGASA, light to moderate rains are expected over Batangas (Tuy, Lian, Balayan, Calatagan, Laurel, Calaca, Lemery, Talisay, Tanauan, Agoncillo, Malvar, Santo Tomas, Mabini, Bauan, San Luis, Taal) within the next three hours.

Meanwhile, the light to moderate rains affecting Quezon (General Nakar), Rizal (Tanay, Angono, Baras, Binangonan, Cardona, Jala-Jala, Morong, Pililla, Teresa), Laguna (San Pedro, Biñan) and Cavite (Carmona, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Dasmarinas) are expected to persist within three hours and affect nearby areas.

PAGASA also said in its 11 a.m. video briefing on Sunday that while Tropical Depression Pilandok will have no direct effect on the Philippines, it continues to intensify the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat even as Pilandok remains far from the Philippine landmass.

As of 4 p.m., Pilandok was located at 1,180 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and is moving northwestward slowly over the sea, PAGASA said in its 5 p.m. bulletin.

The state weather bureau advised the public and concerned Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to monitor the weather conditions and watch for the next warning to be issued at 11 p.m. — BM, GMA News
