LIVE UPDATES: Habagat rains affect parts of PH on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026

An Orange Rainfall Warning has been raised in Bataan and four other Luzon areas on Friday afternoon due to the effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its 2 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said the following areas are under rainfall warning:

Orange Rainfall Warning (Flooding is still threatening)

• Bulacan (Bulakan, Balagtas, Pulilan, Calumpit, Plaridel, Malolos, Paombong, Hagonoy, Guiguinto)
• Tarlac (Bamban, Capas, San Jose)

Yellow Rainfall Warning (Flooding in flood-prone areas)

• Metro Manila
• Cavite
• Rizal
• Batangas (Balayan, Tuy, Lian, Nasugbu, Calatagan, Calaca, Lemery, Agoncillo, Taal, San Nicolas, Santa Teresita, San Luis, Bauan, Mabini, Tingloy, Alitagtag)
• Laguna (Calamba, Cabuyao, Santa Rosa, Binan, San Pedro)

Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected within the next three hours over parts of Nueva Ecija (Laur, Bongabon, Carranglan, Gabaldon, General Mamerto Natividad, Llanera, Lupao, Pantabangan, Rizal, San Jose, Munoz, Talugtug).

Also, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are affecting parts of Batangas (Cuenca, San Jose, Talisay, Laurel), Laguna (Pila, Magdalena, Santa Cruz, Pagsanjan, Victoria, Lumban, Los Banos) and Quezon (Real, Mauban, Sariaya, Calauag), which may persist within three hours and may affect nearby areas.

PAGASA advised the public as well as concerned disaster risk reduction and management offices to monitor the weather condition.

The next warning is set to be issued at 5:00 p.m.

A red rainfall warning remains in effect over portions of Zambales and Bataan, while the same warning has been raised in portions of Pampanga, as of Friday morning.

Metro Manila and 6 areas, meanwhile, are under an orange rainfall warning.

In its 11 a.m. advisory, PAGASA placed the following areas under Red, Orange, and Yellow rainfall warnings:

PAGASA said the light to moderate rains affecting Nueva Ecija (Gabaldon, Laur, General Mamerto Natividad, Talavera, Santo Domingo, Talugtug) may persist within three hours and may affect nearby areas.

Several classes for September 4, 2026 have been suspended in the country due to bad weather.

The state weather bureau advised the public and concerned Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to monitor the weather condition and watch for the next warning to be issued at 2:00 p.m.

A Red Rainfall Warning has been raised in parts of Zambales and Bataan on Friday morning due to the effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

The southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring monsoon rains to parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported.

The state weather bureau continues to monitor the tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that is 1,770 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h and moving in the northwest direction at the speed of 20 km/h.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Zambales and Bataan will have monsoon rains due to the southwest monsoon and flash floods or landslides may occur due to heavy to intense rains.

Pangasinan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro will have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon while flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of CALABARZON, the rest of MIMAROPA, Antique, Iloilo, and Guimaras will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon while flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Heavy rainfall expected over several areas in Luzon due to the southwest monsoon (habagat), PAGASA reported in its Thursday evening advisory.

From Thursday evening to Friday evening, September 4, 2026, 50mm to 100 mm rainfall is expected over the following areas:

• Ilocos Norte
• Ilocos Sur
• La Union
• Pangasinan
• Zambales
• Bataan
• Pampanga
• Tarlac
• Bulacan
• Metro Manila
• Rizal
• Cavite
• Batangas
• Occidental Mindoro

Meanwhile, 100mm to 200 mm rainfall is expected over Occidental Mindoro from Friday evening to Saturday evening, September 5, 2026.
