PAGASA administrator Nathaniel Servando said the agency will continue to monitor the situation as the Amihan coincides the El Niño phenomenon.

"So the DOST-PAGASA will closely monitor about the Amihan season, particularly nag coincide ito sa (it coincide with the) very strong El Niño," he added.
"In the coming months, the Amihan is expected to become dominant over most parts of the country, bringing cooler weather, episodes of cold surges, and rough sea conditions," PAGASA said in a statement.
"Furthermore, the shear line, tropical cyclones, and Intertropical Convergence Zone may influence the country's weather conditions during the," it added.
Servando explained that the Amihan will bring cool winds but less rainfall is expected due to the El Niño.
"We expect in the coming days, weeks bago magtapos ang panahon, within the Amihan season, na talagang less ang rainfall," he said.
(Within the Amihan season, we expect less rains in the coming days, weeks.)
"Ang Amihan nagdadala pa rin ng ulan. Bagamat mahina, ito'y nakaapekto sa eastern part ng ating bansa," he added.
(The Amihan will still bring rain. Despite being weak, it will affect the eastern part of our country.)
Even with the prevailing El Niño, Servando said the country can still expect cool winds from November to January.
"Although we expect na relatively, compared to the temperature for the season — November, December, January — warmer than the normal," Servando said, "May mga araw din na malamig but hindi ganoon ka sustained."
(There are cool days but it is not sustained)
